The kitchen has windows on all four aspects, with a high feature window facing east, for morning light. A secret pantry has been incorporated off the kitchen. A playroom is located with direct sightlines from the kitchen to allow discreet supervision. The living area can be either open plan or screened from the kitchen as required.

 All service areas have been located to the North allowing living zones the preferred Southerly aspect. A carport and canopy to the rear entrance, successfully allows sheltered access from the exterior in what is an elevated and quite exposed site.

Wild meadow sweeps around the house and fills the spaces formed between the dwellings staggered configuration.

This completed energy efficient dwelling not only complies with, but in fact surpasses the recently introduced ‘Nearly Zero Energy Building (NZEB) standards. NZEB is equivalent to a 25% improvement in energy performance on the 2011 Building Regulations/ 70% improvement on 2005 regulations.
